I bought this popcorn popper about 25 years ago. After all those years of use, the lid cracked when I dropped it on my tile floor. Because I loved this popcorn popper so much, I immediately went out and bought a new one and it works just as well. It's the same exact model, except the top (bowl) is now clear, where the original one was yellow.
To the reviewer that had 2/3's of a cup of seeds left, he was not following the easy instructions. He used way too much popcorn. If you buy premium popcorn, live Orville's, you won't have any unpopped seeds. It pop's quickly, is a breeze to clean with it's Teflon surface and you decide how much popcorn you want to make. You can make a small portion, or fill the entire bowl. Recommended popper.

I received this corn popper as a gift recently and I absolutely love it!! My husband & I enjoy the popcorn from this unit better than microwave popcorn. It pops in just minutes and it allows for healthy eating since you control the amount of salt & butter you consume. If you love hot, delicious popcorn then I highly recommend you buy this! It's AWESOME!

This is the BEST popcorn popper in the world! Leaves almost NO unpopped kernels, just works great with no fuss. The popcorn it makes is SO much better than microwave! It's crispy but not dry, and more flavorful,too. (To the reviewer who had 2/3 cup unpopped - I've never even put 2/3 cup into the popper! You'll get a full bowl with about 1/3 to 1/2 cup. If you had 2/3 cup left, you used WAY too much popcorn!) Just let it run till the popping stops, and flip it upside down - the popcorn is in the bowl and ready to eat! To clean it, just wipe it out after use with a dry paper towel. The top can be washed in the dishwasher or sink.

I have had this popper for two years and it was well worth the price. I have only noticed one thing and that is if you don't wash the bowl out right after each use it builds up a residue, and it has begun to crack around the "top" where you put the cap on. Haven't been able to find a place that sells replacement bowls yet. Its a great product for anyone who love fresh popcorn and believe me I love my popcorn.

Very pleased with this purchase! I have had this for about nine months and it works great. I am no longer satisfied by microwave popcorn; popcorn made with this machine tastes so much better. Plus, it is less wasteful since you don't have to deal with all those individually packaged microwave popcorn bags and shrink wrap and the boxes they come in. You do have to wash it after every use but it's worth it. And it tastes much better when you can melt butter into it through the "butter well" than having the fake sludge they put in the microwave stuff. As long as you are taking care of it and not roughhousing with it, I don't see why it should break on you because mine is still in fine shape. I guess the only minor issue I have is that the screw in the center that keeps the stirring rod in place can be a bit difficult to remove (which you are supposed to do to clean it) when there is a piece of popcorn seed stuck under it. When that happens, sometimes it has taken some effort to unscrew. But overall I am very pleased with this purchase and am definitely not going back to microwave. If you happen to get a faulty one, then I think you should just exchange it for another and not attribute it to it not being a good quality model because it really is.

I have been reading about how wonderful this popcorn popper is for years. I have always wanted one. I was excited to see it arrive yesterday 1/4/08. We wanted to save wear & tear on our microwave so I decided to purchase this one. I could not be MORE disappointed. I followed the instructions to the letter and it left 2/3 cup of unpopped kernels in the bottom of the bowl. That is an entire bowl of popped corn - if it would have popped! Unbelievable! I used brand name vegetable oil as instructed, I used namebrand popcorn and it was just horrible. It was tough, greasy tasting, and just left us really be-fuddled. I am checking to see if I can return it to the store since it was an online purchase and it has been used once. I cannot agree with the return policy because there was no way for us to know it wasn't going to be unsatisfactory if we didn't use it..... I'd love to think it was defective but I will not replace it with another one. I'm going back to the microwave popper we've been using. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED.

This is a great popper.After reading so much about how there are so many bad chemicals in the microwave popcorn,not to mention it always tasted like cardboard to me,I decided to buy a real popper.My 3 year old loves to watch it pop and eat out it out of the giant dome lid.The only thing that doesn't work well is where you put the butter on the top.It does not melt in and it just makes a mess so I just melt 1/2 stick in a mug in the microwave then pour it over the top when it's done.

I loved this popper, it made really good popcorn, while it lasted, not even a year. I went to use it one day and it failed to pop any of the popcorn. I tried several times with different popcorn seeds, but the popper just failed to pop any of the popcorn. I don't think I will be spending my money on another one of these. I'll stick to microwave or making popcorn the old fashioned way, in a pot on the stove top.

I am about to purchase my 6th Stir Crazy popper. I have used them for over 10yrs and have found nothing like it. My friend who is a doctor was impressed at how low in fat I can make popcorn compared to microwave stuff.

Only thing I have ever gotten bad results with out of this popper is with old kernels or over filling the thing.
